Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences

Welcome to the Faculty of Health Sciences at Gono Bishwabidyalay; a faculty inspired by the ideals of humanity, scientific advancement, social justice and community-based healthcare. Established under the visionary leadership of Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury, Gono Bishwabidyalay emerged from the philosophy that education and healthcare must serve the people, particularly the underserved and marginalized rural communities of Bangladesh. As an institution founded by Gonoshasthaya Kendra, our university carries a proud legacy of public health innovation, social commitment and nation building. The Faculty of Health Sciences currently comprises three dynamic departments: Department of Pharmacy, Department of Microbiology, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. We are dedicated to creating an academic environment that promotes quality education, practical training, transdisciplinary research, innovation and meaningful community engagement. We also strive to establish strong collaborations with healthcare institutions, industries, research bodies and international partners to expand academic, research and professional opportunities for our students and faculty members. I warmly invite students, researchers, academicians, alumni and stakeholders to join us in our journey toward excellence in health sciences education and research. Together, we shall continue the noble mission of serving humanity through knowledge, innovation, compassion and scientific advancement.
