The Physical Education department believes that each student should be exposed to a healthful lifestyle that includes consistent exercise, proper diet, and healthy habits.

A consistent exercise program is emphasized throughout the curriculum by providing daily exercises as part of the lesson. In each class, students are exposed to the flexibility, cardiovascular, agility, and strength components of exercise.

Physical education also helps student build social skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship and respect for others. Finally, physical education can actually help improve academic performance. Even moderate physical activity can improve both attention and brain function, helping students concentrate better in class and perform better on exams.

Physical education is important because it helps students stay physically active, develop interests in different types of physical activity, build teamwork and other social skills, and improve focus on academic performance.
