1. Mission:

The Department’s orientation towards undergraduate and graduate studies across all the courses of the discipline is to make the students familiarize with the emerging trends in politics and governance. The world today is experiencing drastic economic, cultural, political, technological and environmental changes and transformation. These changes are inexorable law of history. This is especially true for the developing countries like Bangladesh where these changes are posing challenges for human development. Again, these changes have far reaching implications for poverty elevation, economic growth, social harmony and political stability in all the developing countries including Bangladesh.

 Vision:

The curricula of the Department of Politics and Governance are designed to cater the educational needs of the future leaderships in governance, political institutions and international organizations in one hand and on the other to improve the quality of life of the rural poor people of Bangladesh through quality higher education at tertiary level.
