Lab Facility

The Department maintains well-established and fully equipped laboratories to support undergraduate and graduate teaching, training, and research. Our modern facilities feature essential instruments such as PCR machines (Thermal cycler), Gel Documentation Systems, Laminar Air Flow cabinets, UV–Vis spectrophotometers, water purification systems, centrifuges, vortex mixers, autoclaves, incubators, and microscopes, enabling students to develop practical skills in core microbiological and molecular techniques.

To provide specialized training, the facilities are organized into four dedicated laboratories:

  1. Bacteriological Laboratory – for culture, isolation, enumeration, and characterization of microorganisms.
  2. Molecular Biology Laboratory – for DNA/RNA analysis, amplification, and genetic studies.
  3. Media Preparation Laboratory – for the preparation of culture media and reagents used in microbiological and molecular experiments.
  4. Sterilization Laboratory – for sterilization of media, glassware, and laboratory instruments to maintain aseptic conditions.

These well-structured laboratories offer an excellent learning and research environment, ensuring students are trained according to modern scientific standards and industry requirements.
