Department of Pharmacy, Gono Bishwabidyalay has observed the 10th World Pharmacists Day-2020. To commemorate the occasion a webinar on “Pharmacists Transforming Global Health” was organized by the Department on Friday, September 25, 2020. Being the guest speaker Prof. Dr. Pijus Saha, Chairman of the Pharmacy Department, Jahangirnagar University, discussed the various aspects of the Pharmacy profession. He shared his views on the current scenario and future direction of the pharmacists regarding both national and international perspectives. He described the role of pharmacists in hospital along with the other health professionals to treat patients for the maximum outcomes which have already been proved in this COVID-19 pandemic. He emphasized the quality of Pharmacy education to create competent graduate pharmacists for such type of roles.
The webinar was started with an introductory speech by the acting Chair, Mst. Rozina Parul. The former Vice-Chancellor and Head of the Department of Pharmacy, Gono Bishwabidyalay Prof. Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed presided over the webinar. Dr. Golam Mohammad, Prof. attended the webinar from the USA. Faculty members and the students of the Department of Pharmacy joined the webinar. Everybody, around 150 participants enjoyed the interactive nature and the insightful discussion of the webinar.
