About the Library<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Gono Bishwabidyalay (GB) has a well equipped and modern academic library known as Gono Bishwabidyalay Central library, located on the ground floor of Block C. It has a floor space of 10,000sq. feet and a well-furnished reading area. The library can accommodate over 170 users at a time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Resources :<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The library has a book collection of over 32,127 volumes covering various subject areas. Since 1998, Gono Bishwabidyalay library has been collecting several reports, journals, thesises, and research papers. Recent additions are displayed on the shelves. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Since 1998 Gono Bishwabidyalay library has been collecting various Journals. Recent additions are displayed on the shelves.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Gono Bishwabidyalay Publications, including thesis and dissertations are also shelved according to subject.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Additional library resources include globes, atlases, CDs\/DVDs, tapes and audio-visual material.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Members of the Digital Library can access over 40,000 journals and 30,000 books available through Research4Life (HINARI, AGORA, ARDI, OARE, GOALI).<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Recently Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury collection has been shifted to and added to Dr. Zafrullah Archive in the Library.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Library borrowing rules:<\/strong><\/h1>\n
      \n
    1. . Students may borrow a maximum of 2 books for up to 5 working days. Teachers, officers, and staff may also borrow a maximum of 5 books for up to 60 days. Borrowed books can be renewed if needed.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    2. A fine of 2.00 (two) taka for students and 5.00 (five) taka for faculty members, officers and staffers will be charged in case of delay in returning books, per book per day.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      General Instruction:<\/strong><\/h1>\n
        \n
      1. Members have to show the ID while entering the library.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      2. All current students, faculty members , officers, and staffers of Gono Bishwabidyalay can become members of the Central Library. Anyone wishing to become a member must submit a photocopy of ID Card and a copy of a stamp – size photograph.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      3. A fine of 100.00 (one hundred) taka will be charged for getting a duplicate Library ID card if the card is lost. An application along with a stamp size color photograph will also be needed for the purpose.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      4. . Food, drinks, any flammable materials, lighters, matches, personal audio equipment are not allowed in the library.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/li>\n
      5. . Students and other users must pay BDT 2.00 for each photocopied page, whether it is copied on one side or both sides. If the photocopy machine is out of order due to a technical problem, users should not put pressure on library officers or staff.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      6. For digital printing, the charge is BDT 3.00 for a black-and-white print on one side and BDT 5.00 for a double-sided black-and-white print. For color printing or scanning, the charge is BDT 5.00 for a regular color print and BDT 10.00 for a color photo print.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      7. If the issued item is lost, a similar item or latest edition of the same will have to be returned. Otherwise, a refund of double of the current price of the item will have to be paid, including 20% service charge.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        The computer printing service is only available in the library reprography section.<\/strong><\/p>\n

        Photocopy Service :<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        The photocopy services are available.<\/strong><\/p>\n

        Digital\u00a0 Catalogue Search :<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        Computers\u00a0 available for use by faculty members and students to search the library\u00a0 catalogue<\/strong><\/p>\n

        Borrowers\u2019 ID card:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        Faculty, students and other library users need an ID card to use the library. Please contact the library if you have any questions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

        Student Reading Room :<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        Books and reading materials of the following disciplines are preserved in the stack area:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        Generalities, Psychology, Logic, Ethics, Statistics, Pure Science, Mathematics,\u00a0 Astronomy and Allied Sciences, Physics, Chemistry and Allied Sciences, Sciences of Earth and other worlds, Life Sciences, Botanical Sciences, Zoological Sciences, Technology Medical Sciences, Engineering and Allied Operation, Agriculture and Related Technology, Chemical and related Technology, Manufactures, Buildings, History, General Geography, History of Ancient World,\u00a0 General History of Asia, etc.<\/strong><\/p>\n

        Current News Paper Reading Room :<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        Gono Bishwabidyalay library preserves all well-circulated daily newspapers in Bangladesh. Users can read these newspapers from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm in the Central Library.<\/strong><\/p>\n

        Personal Laptop:\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n
