Course Curriculum

Curriculum is the vital aspect of scientific knowledge as a well designed curriculum helps fixing goals and simplifies navigation through path ways to reach the targets. The establishment of the Department of Politics and Governance is a new challenge of the Gono Bishwabidyalay and its curriculum carries even more significance for setting the foundation for higher studies in Politics and Governance in this University. While designing the courses the prime objective was to acquaint students with conceptual and theoretical knowledge and to develop ways to put political analyses into practice. Therefore the courses cover areas that have relevance to real life situations and practices. Among other considerations the interdisciplinary nature of social science and cross cultural perspectives were emphasized followed by inclusion of major social science disciplines as integrated courses and comparative analysis. Prospects of employment opportunities were kept in mind and the curriculum was designed to qualify students in tailoring their skills to existing market demands. Students who specialize in Politics and Governance will develop transferable skills that will substantially enhance their career options. The curriculum will also provide students with necessary theoretical and empirical knowledge to provide a pathway to higher studies and research.
